not election reactions

okay maybe just a tiny bit

So with it being a hell of a lot easier to make posts now, I should probably.. make posts now. Let’s see.. some quick happy updates are probably in order given how horrible everything’s been lately :)

Xenoblade Fangirling

Nintendo quietly announced that Xenoblade Chronicles X; perhaps The Most requested Wii U port is finally coming to the Switch on March 25, 2025.

It’s definitely one of my favorites of the four Xenoblade games. But then when I think about it, they each my favorite in their own way.

Xenoblade 1 is my favorite for story, characters, and music.
Xenoblade X is my favorite for world building, environment, freedom, and music.
Xenoblade 2 is my favorite for..
Xenoblade 3 is my favorite for story, characters, environment, and expansiveness.

Okay, there’s definitely some overlap in “favorite” and also, 2 just kinda… I never really think about 2 much tbh, which is a bummer and I should give it another go because my girlfriend rates it pretty highly. It has some of her favorite characters.

I think my point is though that I just adore the Xenoblade series and even 2 brought something to the table when it innovated on the battle system that 1 and X used. I guess I’d have to give credit to 2 for trying something new, even if the Blade Gatcha system was obnoxious and annoying.

House Happiness

My wife and I have been painting my room in the new house. We’re only painting it because it had trees and birds and butterflies and rocks and rainbows and omg all over the walls. Creative parents painting a room for a baby that probably couldn’t appreciate any of it. None of the previous owners repainted that room, and I am cursing them for it, but otherwise it’s actually been really fun painting it with my wife. I feel so accomplished! Last night we finished the primer and you can’t see it anymore!! In some light actually you can see a bit of blue from the rainbow, but I’m putting a light purple paint on it next and that’ll probably finish it up. If a tiny bit of it remains visible, well, I think that’s okay actually. We accomplished so much and nothing’s perfect. I think it’ll be great no matter what.

Tattoos

Speaking of nothing’s perfect, I have a fine-line tattoo of Jiji from Kiki’s Delivery Service on my upper arm. I got it a year ago and by now a few of the lines have broken. It looks a little meh, but again, nothing’s perfect and I kinda like that. His head is in perfect shape though and that’s really cute. But I think I kinda like that it’s broken.

I’ve also decided my next tattoo: A term mark from Xenoblade 3, but with most of it red indicating that I have a lot of my life ahead of me still. With longcovid, I have to make a reminder that I’m not done yet. I’m still here and I’m going to be for some time.

I’ve made it to my mid-thirties. I’ll have lived a full life if I can make it to my sixties I think.
