Found this in my drafts folder, originally written sometime in 2023 or 2024. This isn’t about Google gemini, but rather geminispace, a small web alternative to http. No this isn’t about the one client developer leaving. It’s about the fact that this place has two prominent trolls who seek to antagonize marginalized folk and attack anything that’s not the status quo for able bodied straight white cis men.

Obviously since you can join gemini by self hosting and self submitting to various aggregators, there will never be a “kick the nazis out of the bar” action. So I say let the nazis have it. Geminispace has lost my voice today but kept that of two assholes. A net win for gemini, surely.

I would suggest that there needs to be a reporting system in these aggregators so that the community can send feedback and the aggregator owners can decide to delist/block certain people.

But I am one tired and disabled woman just trying to live until tomorrow. You won by pushing me away from a really cool space. I won because I will never think about your sorry fucking existences ever again.
